Swatches

Headband swatch

I'm finding new creative ways to swatch; used my stash AND I my head.

I'm making head bands.

This all started with a visit to Pepperknit

I began her pattern but didn't like the result with my yarn so I took a look at my pattern book witten by Mary Webb Knitting Stitches.

I made a headband swatch with a diagonal rib and liked the result.
I started and finished with an I-cord;

The Diagonal rib pattern:
R1 (RS): *k2, p2* repeat (multiple of 4 sts) I used 16 sts
R2 (WS): knit as the sts present themselves (knit the k sts and purl the p sts)
R3 p1, *k2, p2* repeat these sts until 3 sts are left then k2, p1
R4 as row 2
R5 *p2, k2* repeat to end of row
R6 as row 2
R7 k1, *p2, k2* repeat these sts until 3 sts are left then p2, k1
R8 as row 2

Repeat these eight rows to desired length to cover your head.
(I made mine 16 inches long)

My short hand was on a piece of paper

The face on Facebook

I'm on Facebook and I'm not sure what to do.

Do you still blog vlog and now flog? How should I know.

I'm old now and I should be serious and working and thinking of how I'll support myself for the next 50 years...

Well I prefer surffing and being oblivious to all these "adult" notions. I guess you can catagorize me as a hedonistic old gal.

But back to the idea of my virtual life. I've figured out what an avatar is thanks to Ravelry but I still find it hard to be an actual Avatar since I'm limited to faces and so on that I must choose. Why not just stay Blank?

Facebook! Who would of thought this is where my social network would end up. Lets "Face It" it's very confusing to know what is socialy acceptable to publish or not.

Therefore, I like to resurect my blog and enjoy the fact that I can still have a bit of privacy.

No one can find me here (lol)
IMHO I like that.

I finished making blueberry muffins that are too healthy (I may live longer)

Here they are and yes I knit a sock the other one is in the making and is for another blog day.

2010 *** New Year! ***

So it's a new year... More days to knit. Yes, I'm still at it after dropping my needles for a couple of weeks. I started the new year with Ravelry and my cats and a bottle of bubbly wine. Nice. I enjoy my own co.

Val has been on the go with the new thrummed mittens I knit for her. She tends to get them wet and drop them on the floor.
I end up using my sock blockers to hang them to dry. This is what they look like:

Showing off my cats for Marie

Annabelle is approximately 2 years old. Val (my daughter) brought her to my door last summer, a stray she found in the woods near Trois Rivières. She was starved and had worms. Now she is nice and chubby and plays with insects and my old cat Nala.

September 11th

A day to remember, unfortunately some people do have a birthday today and I hope it can be a happy one.

I found this on Ravelry and I liked it. Here is the probability that the little cat can attack me.

Is your cat plotting to kill you?

Hope this cheers you up.

Raining = Reason to surf n knit

It's been a slow day at work. I found some patterns that can become my next project. OH! I already have a few projects already lined up. Oops!
  1. I'm finishing the Kiila socks KAL
  2. Started the gauge for Tie-Front Cardi
  3. Bought the yarn for the Botanica Medallion Cardi
As if that's not enough, I down loaded a couple of projects (and don't tell my daughter, I printed them... not cool for the environment)

  1. Fools Rush Sock
  2. Luna Moth Shawl
  3. Metron Shawl
  4. Blue Jeans Lace Leaf Shawl
  5. Turkish Stitch String Bag
Now you know I'm a little obsessed with knitting
